Why Brands Aren’t Replying to Your Pitches (And How to Change That)
If you’ve ever sent a pitch to a brand and been met with complete silence, you’re not alone.
One of the biggest frustrations we hear from creators is, “I’m sending emails, but nobody is replying.” While it can feel disheartening, the truth is that a lack of response doesn’t always mean a lack of interest.
More often than not, it comes down to how you’re pitching.
Here are three ways to improve your pitches and increase your chances of securing brand collaborations.
1. Stop pitching yourself. Start pitching the opportunity.
One of the biggest mistakes creators make is making their pitch all about themselves.
Brands already know who you are from your social media and media kit. What they really want to understand is why working with you benefits them.
Instead of saying:
“I’d love to collaborate because I love your products.”
Try explaining:
“My audience is actively looking for solutions around X, and I believe your brand is perfectly positioned to help them.”
Shift the conversation from what you want to what you can achieve together.
2. Make it clear why you’re the right creator.
Not every creator is the right fit for every campaign, and that’s okay.
Your pitch should answer three simple questions:
Why you?
Why your audience?
Why now?
Think beyond your follower count.
Brands care about your niche, the trust you’ve built with your audience, your storytelling ability and the results you can deliver. Show them what makes your content different and why your community is the perfect fit for their campaign.
3. Follow up professionally.
This is the step that so many creators skip.
Marketing teams receive hundreds of emails every week, and sometimes your pitch genuinely gets buried.
Following up doesn’t make you pushy. It shows professionalism, confidence and that you’re genuinely interested in building a relationship, not just securing a one-off campaign.
Some of the best partnerships start with a follow-up email.
